Vacancy notice for a Policy officer/assistant (full time) at European Builders Confederation (EBC)
What are we:
EBC is the voice of construction crafts and SMEs in Europe, a European confederation composed of 19 member and partner associations, representing 2 million construction crafts and SMEs. The EBC Secretariat, based in Brussels, ensures the day-to-day activity of the association and is currently looking for a Policy officer/assistant (full time).
What we ask:
The Policy officer/assistant will be in charge of three main tasks: policy, administration, projects.
European policy tasks include monitoring and analysis of current EU legislation, members’ consultation, production of position papers and press releases, as well as proactive lobbying towards the European Commission, Parliament and Council.
The candidate will also perform administrative tasks such as translation, text editing, emailing internal accountancy, and will assist the Secretary General in the daily running of the secretariat.
EBC is also engaged in some European projects, for which the candidate will provide assistance, organising conferences and events, drafting programmes and minutes, assessing project opportunities for EBC participation and monitoring European funding opportunities.
What we seek
The successful candidate will be a motivated, talented and very flexible professional. She/he will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in at least French and English. The candidate will be able to work
independently and as part of a team and will have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience. Concerning technical experience, the candidate will be IT proficient, including graphic programs and website update and management. Proficient knowledge of additional European languages will be considered a valuable asset.
What we offer
EBC offers an undetermined contract, with a 6-month trial period, 14-month salary, with a gross monthly salary ranging from € 2,000 to 2,500 €, depending on the professional experience. Additional pension benefits and lunch vouchers are also provided. The position allows and requires flexible working hours, but awards satisfaction, responsibilities and potential for growth to a dedicated professional.
