The European Strategic Intelligence and Security Center (ESISC), a think tank and a consulting group headquartered in Brussels which aims to analyse strategic issues and terrorist threat is looking for two interns.
Job Profile
Job Title: Intern
Beginning: October or November 2009
Term: 4 to 6 months
“Salary”: 500 Euros/month
1.Main Purpose of the Job:
- Monitor and analyse the strategic situation and the threat resulting of terrorism, organized crime, civil unrest and maritime piracy in various areas of the world (Middle-East, Africa, Asia, South America….);
- Write analysis for our clients or our websites;
- Coordinate the activities of outsourced writers for our website.
2.Position in Organization:
- The interns will be directly attached to the top management;
3.Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- University Degree or equivalent (preferably in Political Science / International Relations);
- Fluent in English and French (spoken and written);
- A third language such as Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Russian, Chinese, Pashto etc. will be highly appreciated;
- Excellent writing skill in English;
- If possible good writing skill in French;
- Flexibility and ability to work in a small but international structure;
- Deep interest and good understanding in international affairs, especially in relation with security issues;
- Excellent communication skills including experience of developing message for European decision makers;
- Experience of planning, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on own work;
- Good time-management and the ability to prioritise a varied and heavy work-load;
- Good inter-personal skills;
- Good computer literacy.
Desirable:
- Another European language is an asset;
- Another language such as Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Russian, Chinese, Pashto etc. will be highly appreciated.
